Managing data quality in large and complex organisations can be a challenge. DPA have significant experience in defining, implementing and running data governance and data management processes in a range of organisations.
ISO 8000 Part 150 provides a useful framework (illustrated above) defining the different elements of a data quality management framework. This defines the key factors which support effective data quality management. Implementation very often can be achieved through enhancements to existing activities in order to ensure that there is a suitable focus on data and information.
DPA recommend strengthening this approach with the addition of Change Management, an Escalation Process, ensuring that there is a suitable organisation around data and considering cultural and behavioural aspects. This then provides a comprehensive approach to the establishment of an effective data governance approach.
